As a Pipe Fitter, you will work in a team alongside the pipe fabrication and assembly teams to accurately frame structural weldments using engineering drawings Benefits Information: Urgently hiring Hiring Multiple candidates $1,000 sign on bonus, split into two separate payments of $500 each. First pay out after 30 days of employment and second payout after 90 days of employment. Retention bonus opportunities as well. The payout of both the sign on bonus and retention bonus will be based on acceptable performance and attendance This is a supplemental position located at the Solar manufacturing facility located in Channelview, TX No relocation package is available Health, dental, vision, & basic life insurance offered on day 1 of employment Potential base salary increases from annual performance reviews Opportunities for Additional Premiums: Starting pay will include a market adjustment premium of $2 per hour. In addition, there will be cross-training and qualifications-based opportunities to earn up to an additional $2 per hour, with any night shift activity qualifying for another $3 per hour. Job Duties/Responsibilities may include, but are not limited to: Perform Manual fitting of pipe components to achieve the requirements in the engineering drawing. Follow documented procedures and standard work to perform safe and defect free operations Perform carbon arc cutting and gouging Sanding may be required to prepare and dress welds Use of common measuring and locating tools (tape measure, transit, fixtures, etc.) Use of forklifts, pallet jacks, jib and overhead cranes to move and position work pieces Required Qualifications: Must be able to pass pipe fitter qualification test Minimum of 6 months of experience in a production environment Ability to perform simple computer operations Be available to work 1st and 2nd shift Ability to work overtime to support production demands Must be able to climb and work from ladders and scaffolds Ability to work well individually or in a team environment Desired Qualifications: One (1) to three (3) years of Pipe Fabrication experience Top Candidates: Three (3) years or more of Pipe Fabrication experience Good Communication Skills and strong commitment to safety, quality, and teamwork Leadership Experience **Candidates may be placed on any shift, dependent on business needs, and pay level will be determined based on experience and qualifications** All eligible candidates MUST pass the following pre-employment screenings before they can be hired to any position: Background Screening Physical and drug/alcohol screening Solar Turbines is not currently hiring foreign national applicants that require or will require sponsorship tied to a specific employer, such as H, L, TN, F, J, E, O.
