Job Summary
We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Project Manager to lead critical projects across our network of Ambulatory Surgery Centers (ASCs) with a focus on de novo development, acquisition integration, and operational optimization. The ideal candidate will possess strong leadership skills and a proven track record in healthcare project management, with specific experience in managing the complexities of launching new surgery centers and successfully integrating acquired facilities. This role requires a strategic, organized leader who can manage resources, oversee cross-functional teams, and drive process improvements while supporting business growth and ensuring regulatory compliance.

Responsibilities

  • Lead end-to-end de novo ASC development projects, including timeline management, facility build-outs, licensing, accreditation preparation (AAAHC, ACHC, CMS), equipment procurement, and go-live readiness.
  • Manage acquisition transitions, overseeing the integration of acquired ASCs into the organization by aligning systems, policies, processes, compliance standards, and cultural expectations.
  • Collaborate with clinical leaders, administrators, physicians, and executive leadership to define project goals, deliverables, and success metrics for both new and acquired centers.
  • Drive process improvement initiatives across all centers to enhance patient care, throughput, safety, and overall operational efficiency.
  • Monitor and report on project milestones, financial performance, and resource allocation, adjusting as needed to ensure successful project outcomes.
  • Conduct financial analysis for projects, including profit and loss assessments, to ensure sustainable growth and return on investment.
  • Provide leadership and oversight to project teams, fostering communication, accountability, and collaboration across all departments.
  • Identify and support business development opportunities, including service line expansions, physician recruitment, and partnership growth strategies.
  • Ensure all projects are aligned with organizational objectives and meet applicable healthcare regulations, including AAAHC, CMS, OSHA, and state-specific ASC requirements.

Skills

  • Proven project management experience in healthcare, with a strong preference for experience in ASC development, acquisitions, and integration.
  • Comprehensive understanding of healthcare operations, regulatory environments, and accreditation processes.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage complex projects across multiple stakeholders and disciplines, including construction, IT, clinical services, and administration.
  • Strong leadership and team management skills with experience in facilitating collaboration among diverse teams.
  • Knowledge of financial drivers in the ASC setting, including case costing, payer mix, and revenue cycle impacts.
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to engage physicians, executive leadership, and operational teams.
  • Experience with project management tools and methodologies; Lean, Six Sigma, or PMP certification required.
  • Ability to manage multiple, concurrent projects in a fast-paced, high-growth environment.
  • 3-5 years of project management experience in healthcare, with ASC de novo development and acquisition integration experience strongly preferred.
