Job Title : Level 2 Registered Nurse - Emergency Department (Part Time)

Job Specialty : Acute Emergency

Job Duration : 12 Months

Shift : 2x12-hour shifts (Day / Evening / Night / Weekend / Holiday rotation : 7 AM - 7 PM / 7 PM - 7 AM)

Guaranteed Hours : Not specified

Experience : 2 years of experience in the Emergency Department

License : NYS RN Licensure

Certifications : BLS, ACLS, PALS, NIHSS

Must-Have :

  • One year of acute hospital experience as a registered professional nurse

Job Description :

  • Apply nursing theory, technical, and communication skills to deliver high-quality, compassionate care.
  • Assess patient needs, identify urgent or emergent care priorities, and collaboratively provide direct care.
  • Conduct both primary and secondary assessments to identify critical needs and necessary interventions.
  • Utilize invasive and non-invasive procedures, treatments, and therapeutic interventions.
  • Establish rapport with patients and families, providing information and addressing comfort needs.
  • Detect and document major deviations from norms, reassess patient responses, and adapt care accordingly.
  • Encourage team trust, respect, and cooperation for optimal patient outcomes; delegate tasks as appropriate.
  • Prepare patients and families for diagnostic procedures and post-emergency care; structure education to maximize understanding.
  • Maintain awareness of patient conditions throughout their emergency department visit, updating communication accordingly.
  • Focus on creating a Healing Environment and keep patients and significant others informed of the care process.

    • This position involves working with patients of all age groups, assessing their physiological, psychosocial, emotional, and cultural needs to provide thoughtful and effective care.
