Job Description :
- Perform direct and indirect designated resident care within the scope of practice as defined by certification.
- Demonstrate the knowledge and skills necessary to provide care appropriate to the age of the patients served on assigned unit.
- Demonstrate understanding of the principles of growth and development of the life span and possess the ability to assess data reflective of the patient's status.
- Interpret appropriate information needed to identify each patient's requirements relative to age-specific needs and provide the care needed by adult and geriatric patient groups.
- Ensure Residents' ADL's (Activities of Daily Living) needs are met as outlined in the care plan, including hygiene, grooming, dressing, incontinence care, elimination / toileting needs, repositioning, and skin care. Complete documentation as per protocol.
- Maintain a safe and comfortable environment for residents, addressing environment and safety as outlined in the care plan, including prompt response to call lights and alarms, behavior and fall prevention, and cleanliness. Complete documentation as per protocol.
- Address residents' nutritional needs as outlined in the care plan, including meal delivery, tray preparation, and feeding while honoring resident preferences. Complete documentation as per protocol.
- Meet residents' rehabilitative needs, including range of motion exercises, ambulation, transfers, and use of assistive devices. Complete documentation as per protocol.
- Report residents' rights, refusals, and concerns promptly in accordance with protocol. Report changes in resident physical, emotional, and psychosocial status to Charge Nurse in a timely manner.
- Manage tasks involving potential contact with blood, body fluids, or tissues, with the anticipation of occupational exposure to blood-borne pathogens.
