Assistant Shift Foreman – Manufacturing Industry

Sole Hire has been asked to recruit on behalf of its client in the manufacturing industry for an exciting full-time, direct hire opportunity located in Hartville, OH. If you have prior plastic injection molding experience and are seeking a dynamic role with competitive pay ($25-30 /HR benefits), this position could be the perfect fit for you!

About The Role

The Assistant Shift Foreman will work closely with the Shift Foreman and Production Manager to support daily operations, maintain high production standards, and ensure the smooth running of the shift. This individual will also step in to lead operations when the Shift Foreman is unavailable.

Key Responsibilities

• Mold Setups and Changeovers:
• Prepare molds, auxiliary equipment, and other production tools to minimize downtime during setups and changeovers.
• Track and monitor IQMs for seamless transitions between tasks.
• Troubleshoot and report any mold-related issues to the Shift Foreman or Production Manager.
• Quality Assurance:
• Collaborate with Quality Inspectors to confirm that all products meet required standards.
• Supervise team members, ensuring they follow all procedures and work instructions.
• Train new operators on proper procedures and tasks.
• Production and Processing:
• Adhere to established processing procedures to minimize scrap and enhance efficiencies.
• Report any alterations or concerns in product processes to the appropriate team.
• Supplies and Materials:
• Manage inventory of essential tools and materials such as gate cutters and mold components.
• Notify management about supply needs before shortages occur.
• Safety Compliance:
• Enforce the use of personal protective equipment, such as safety glasses and hearing protection.
• Identify and report any unsafe equipment or conditions in the facility.
• Miscellaneous:
• Ensure all production is scanned and transported to the warehouse by the end of each shift.
• Work overtime as needed to meet production objectives (with prior approval).
• Promote the efficient use of regrind materials whenever possible.
  
  

Requirements

Qualifications:

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• A minimum of 2 years of experience in plastic injection molding.
• Strong knowledge of mold setups, equipment operations, and production processes.
• Leadership skills to supervise and support team members effectively.
• Attention to detail and commitment to safety standards.
