Description:
ROLE
To maintain a high standard of cleanliness in guestrooms and service areas. Provide support services for the resort’s housekeeping department.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Inspector for both Maui Beach Vacation Club and Kihei Surfside.
- Inspect section cleaned by assigned attendant using designated checklist.
- Follow all company policies and procedures.
- Follow all Housekeeping operating procedures.
- Maintain effective communication within all departments.
- Assume other authorities pertaining to the area of responsibility as delegated by the Executive Housekeeper.
- Assist the Executive Housekeeper in controlling and reducing department expenses (uniforms, supplies, damaged articles).
- Prioritize and delegate work assignments to housekeeping staff.
- Direct performance of assigned staff and follow up with corrections where needed.
- Ascertain staffs training needs and provide such training.
- Motivate staff and maintains a cohesive team.
- Maintain proper inventory and security of housekeeping supplies for Maui Beach, Maui Banyan and Kihei Surfside.
- Ensure the security of any assigned area and lock all doors.
- Must be able to work with minimal supervision.
- Communicate additions or changes to the assignment sheets as they arise throughout the shift.
- Identify and act upon situations which compromise the department’s standards.
- Update area status after approving cleanliness and condition in accordance with departmental standards.
- Complete work orders for maintenance repairs. Follow up and inspect items requiring repairs.
- Evaluate employee performance levels and re-train as needed.
- Be aware of Resorts emergency and safety procedures.
- Conduct new hire training.
- Monitor and handle customer complaints by following the instant pacification procedures and ensuring customer satisfaction.
- Provide feedback on staff performance to the Manager.
- Report disciplinary problems to the Manager.
- Maintain a flexible work schedule.
- Follow all safety procedures.
- Perform all other job requests as assigned by management.
- Must be able to maintain mobility and work in varying temperatures (Indoors and Outdoors)
- Must have working knowledge of company phones.
- Complete all pertinent paperwork and logs.
- Must keep management apprised of status work assignments.
REQUIREMENTS/QUALIFICATIONS
- Must be detailed oriented.
- Must have good written and verbal communication skills in English.
- High school graduate.
- Must have at least one year of supervisory skills in housekeeping or a related field.
