Role:
The Security Supervisor is responsible for overseeing the activities of the security department which provides safety and protects all patrons, employees and company assets. In this role you will partner with Security Leadership as well as Resort Leaders to ensure safety guidelines are being followed, assist with training security officers in their role and responsibilities, review staffing levels to maintain full coverage of posts, delegate authority and assign responsibilities and investigate incidents and/or customer complaints and compile data for accurate reporting; escalating to leadership as required for proper guidance and decision-making.
Responsibilities:
- Follow all Safety and Security procedures to protect and ensure the safety of our guests, employees and assets.
- Maintain a flexible work schedule based on business needs.
- Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization’s policies and applicable laws. Assists with interviewing, hiring, and training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems.
- Maintains a professional departmental, company and community reputation. Must be able to deal with various levels of personality traits and maintain self-control.
- Provide exceptional customer service in every interaction with owners and guests.
- Assisting and providing supervision for the security department and helping to assist the Security Director with daily functions.
- First line of contact when the Security Director is not on property.
- Responsible for the field training of new officers.
- Maintains regular, consistent attendance record.
- Complete all appropriate documentation regarding violations or infractions witnessed by or reported to Security.
- Provide feedback to Security Director on issues involving Security employees or other employees of the resort.
- Patrol property via foot/vehicle and oversee adjoining public areas; support all properties (Lahaina & Kihei).
- Protect and preserve all resort property from damage, vandalism and theft.
- Maintain confidentiality and perform in a discreet and tactful manner at all times.
- Provide rapid response and thorough investigation of all requests for assistance from guests or employees.
- Perform light maintenance upon request.
- Follow all safety procedures.
- Perform all other job requests as assigned by management in a timely manner.
- Complete incident reports in electronic format to required standard; escalating to leadership for proper guidance and decision-making.
- Assist when needed in all areas of the property in the event of an emergency.
- Keep informed of local jurisdiction laws (federal, state, etc.) as well as company internal controls, policies, and procedure.
Requirements
- Must have 3 years of verifiable security experience.
- One year of experience in a security supervisory role is required.
- Must have effective oral and written English communication skills.
- Must be able to maintain a calm demeanor while dealing with emergencies and agitated individuals.
- Computer literacy which is not limited to Outlook, Excel and Word.
- Ability to work with minimal supervision.
- Must have a valid Driver’s License.
