- Interpret spoken language into various forms of sign language and vice versa
- Adhere to professional code of ethics and maintain confidentiality
- Collaborate with other interpreters and professionals as needed
- Adapt interpreting style to match the linguistic needs of clients
- Educational Interpreter Performance Assessment (EIPA) Score: 3.5 w/written
- Valid Alabama Professional Certificate
- NIC/RID certified candidate will be considered as well
- Bachelor's degree in Sign Language Interpreting preferred
- Must meet Every Student Succeed Act (ESSA) federal and state requirements or a willingness to meet the requirements
- Fluency in American Sign Language and English
