Job Description: We are seeking a passionate and experienced Occupational Therapist (OT) for a school-based role in Elmont, NY. This position involves working with students to improve their ability to perform tasks in their daily academic and social lives by focusing on fine motor skills, sensory processing, and self-care abilities.
Responsibilities:
- Conduct evaluations to determine students' occupational therapy needs.
- Develop individualized treatment plans and set goals tailored to each student's needs.
- Provide direct therapy services aimed at improving fine motor skills, sensory integration, and activities of daily living.
- Collaborate with teachers, parents, and school staff to support student success.
- Participate in IEP meetings and contribute to the development of Individualized Education Programs (IEPs).
- Document and track student progress and make necessary adjustments to therapy plans.
- Offer consultation and training to school staff and parents to support students' goals outside of therapy sessions.
Qualifications:
- Master's degree in Occupational Therapy.
- New York state licensure as an Occupational Therapist.
- Experience working in a school setting is preferred but not required.
- Strong organizational and munication skills.
- Ability to work collaboratively as part of a multidisciplinary team.
