Key Responsibilities
- Create and implement individualized education plans (IEPs) that address the specific needs and goals of each student.
- Cultivate a safe and engaging classroom environment that encourages curiosity and growth.
- Collaborate with a team of professionals, including therapists and parents, to ensure comprehensive support for each child.
- Utilize a diverse range of instructional strategies to accommodate different learning styles and abilities.
- Monitor and assess student progress, adapting teaching methods as needed to promote success.
- Encourage positive social interactions and skill development among students.
- Bachelors degree in Special Education, Elementary Education, or a related field.
- Valid Michigan teaching certification in Exceptional Student Education (ESE) or Elementary Education.
- Previous experience working with elementary-aged children with special needs is preferred.
- Excellent communication skills and a collaborative approach to education.
- A genuine passion for teaching and a commitment to creating a nurturing learning environment.
- Ability to manage classroom dynamics with empathy and patience.
