Job Description : Soliant Education is seeking a compassionate and experienced Special Education Teacher for an onsite position in Lewisville, OR, for the 2024-2025 school year. In this full-time role, you will work in a self-contained classroom with 15 high school students exhibiting behavioral challenges. The ideal candidate will have experience working with students with emotional and behavioral disabilities and will be committed to fostering a supportive and structured learning environment.
Responsibilities :
Provide individualized instruction and support to students in a self-contained classroom.
Develop, implement, and monitor Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) for each student.
Collaborate with general education teachers, parents, and other staff to ensure effective support for students.
Implement behavioral management strategies and interventions to improve student behavior and academic success.
Track and document student progress, including academic achievements and behavioral improvements.
Participate in IEP meetings and collaborate with the educational team to adapt teaching methods and strategies as needed.
Create a safe, inclusive, and structured classroom environment conducive to student growth.
Communicate regularly with parents and staff regarding student progress and adjustments to IEPs or behavioral strategies.
Requirements :
Active Oregon Special Education Teaching License (required).
Experience working with high school students with behavioral and emotional disabilities.
Strong communication, collaboration, and organizational skills.
Ability to develop and implement IEPs tailored to students' needs.
Experience working in a self-contained classroom setting is preferred.
Compassion, patience, and the ability to manage challenging behaviors effectively.
Ability to work effectively with students, parents, teachers, and administrators.
