Overview:
We are seeking a compassionate and skilled Speech-Language Pathologist (SLP) to join our team for the upcoming school year in Benedict, MN. As a vital member of our special education department, you will play a crucial role in assessing, diagnosing, and treating speech, language, and communication disorders in students. Your expertise and dedication will contribute to creating a supportive learning environment where all students can effectively communicate and achieve academic success.
Responsibilities:
- Conduct comprehensive assessments and evaluations to diagnose speech, language, and communication disorders in students from diverse cultural and linguistic backgrounds.
- Develop individualized treatment plans and goals based on assessment results, collaborating with educators, parents, and caregivers to establish achievable objectives.
- Provide direct therapy services to students, both individually and in small groups, focusing on areas such as articulation, language comprehension, fluency, and pragmatic skills.
- Monitor and track student progress through ongoing assessment and data collection, adjusting interventions as necessary to optimize outcomes.
- Collaborate closely with teachers, parents, and other professionals to support the implementation of therapeutic strategies within the classroom and home environments.
- Participate actively in IEP (Individualized Education Program) meetings, offering valuable insights and recommendations regarding speech and language goals.
- Maintain accurate documentation of services provided and student progress according to school policies and state regulations.
- Stay informed of current research, trends, and best practices in speech-language pathology through professional development and continuing education activities.
Qualifications:
- Masters degree in Speech-Language Pathology (SLP) from an accredited program.
- ASHA certification (CCC-SLP) and Minnesota state licensure or eligibility for licensure.
- Previous experience in a school setting or working with pediatric populations preferred.
- Knowledge of various communication disorders and their impact on learning and development.
- Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to collaborate effectively with colleagues, students, families, and multidisciplinary teams.
- Organizational skills and ability to manage caseload effectively, prioritize tasks, and meet deadlines.
