Job Overview:
We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Technical Salesman to join our team. This role focuses on building relationships with growers, understanding their operations, and offering tailored agricultural solutions from our product lines. The ideal candidate has a strong background in relational, technical, and sales roles, with the ability to effectively communicate technical aspects of agricultural products and services.
Responsibilities
Customer Relationships & Sales Growth:
- Build meaningful relationships with farmers in the region and understand their unique needs.
- Develop and maintain a pipeline of leads to drive new sales opportunities within the assigned territory.
- Create customized solutions based on growers’ operations and our product offerings.
- Guide potential customers through the entire sales process, from discovery to closing deals.
- Work to improve sales strategies and improve customer engagement.
Technical Knowledge & Support:
- Understand the company’s technical products and services, and communicate their value proposition effectively to farmers.
- Deliver product demonstrations and presentations, promoting the value of our products customers during sales meetings.
- Provide technical expertise during the sales process, ensuring customers understand how our solutions meet their operational goals.
Strategy & Collaboration:
- Develop and execute sales strategies to meet revenue targets and growth objectives.
- Collaborate with internal teams, including service, shop technicians, marketing, and customer support, to ensure seamless product delivery and customer satisfaction.
- Stay up-to-date on industry trends, competitor activity, and emerging agricultural technologies to drive innovation and competitive advantage.
Administrative Duties:
- Maintain accurate records of all sales activities and customer interactions in CRM systems.
Qualifications
Education & Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree in agriculture, engineering, or a related technical field preferred. Relevant sales experience may substitute for formal education.
- Minimum of 3 years of technical sales experience, with a proven track record of meeting or exceeding revenue goals.
Skills & Abilities:
- Strong understanding of agricultural products, machinery, and technology.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to build and maintain relationships with customers and stakeholders.
- Ability to explain complex technical products and solutions in a way that resonates with growers.
- Self-motivated with the ability to manage multiple priorities independently.
- Proficient in CRM systems and other sales tools to track customer interactions and analyze data.
- Knowledge of sales methodologies, such as consultative or value-based selling.
Other Requirements:
- Willingness to travel within the assigned territory as needed.
- Must be able to commute to and from Remington, IN, with some remote work flexibility.
Compensation Package:
- Base plus commission
