The Director of Disposal Services plays a critical role in ensuring the effective management of the Department's Engineering and Environmental Programs. This position requires strong leadership skills, excellent technical knowledge, and the ability to communicate effectively with various stakeholders. The ideal candidate will have a background in environmental science or engineering and significant experience in supervising teams and managing budgets.
Key Responsibilities:
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in engineering, environmental science, or a closely related field.
- Five (5) years of experience in supervision and management of others, including budget responsibilities.
- Three (3) years of experience in environmental or related field.
- Three (3) years of experience with Landfill Methane Gas Systems.
- Excellent project management skills, with a proven ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage diverse stakeholders.
- Proficient in data analysis and reporting, with experience in using software tools for performance tracking.
- Demonstrated ability to lead and motivate a team effectively.

Key Responsibilities:
- Supervise Solid Waste Technicians, Equipment Operators, Environmental Technicians and MSW and C&D Supervisors.
- Manage Consulting Services and Contractors related to Environmental Monitoring and Construction.
- Assist Department Administration with budgeting and scheduling construction necessary for the Department.
- Inspect all sites and coordinates with engineers and contractors to ensure that new work complies with Federal, State, and Local regulations, codes and permits.
