Direct Support Professional

Job Summary
We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Direct Support Professional to provide essential care and support to individuals with disabilities or special needs. The ideal candidate will assist clients in daily living activities, promote their independence, and ensure their overall well-being in a safe and nurturing environment. This role requires a commitment to patient monitoring, medication administration, and maintaining a clean living space for clients.

Responsibilities

• Assist clients with daily living activities such as bathing, dressing, grooming, and meal preparation.
• Provide patient monitoring to ensure the health and safety of individuals under care.
• Administer medications as prescribed and maintain accurate records of medication schedules.
• Engage clients in social and recreational activities to promote mental and emotional well-being.
• Perform heavy lifting when necessary to assist clients with mobility or transfers.
• Maintain a clean and organized living environment for clients, ensuring hygiene standards are met.
• Implement first aid procedures as needed and respond promptly to any emergencies.
• Collaborate with healthcare professionals, including nurses, to develop individualized care plans.

Requirements

• Previous experience in with working with individuals with intellectual dissabilities .
• Strong understanding of patient monitoring techniques and medication administration protocols.
• Certification in first aid or CPR is highly desirable.
• Excellent communication skills and the ability to build rapport with clients and their families.
• Compassionate nature with a genuine desire to help others achieve their highest level of independence.
• Must be able to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends as required by client needs.

Pay: From $17.00 per hour

Expected hours: No more than 40 per week
