Job Summary:
We are seeking a full time Paralegal to join our growing team. The ideal candidate will have a college degree and 1-3 years paralegal experience, a strong work ethic and be a team player. Experience with civil litigation, Workers' Compensation, and/or Insurance Defense preferred.
Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
- Drafting motions/pleadings, correspondences, status reports
- Electronic filing (state and federal court systems)
- Drafting Subpoenas and Deposition notices
- Preparing for Mediations and Trials
- Managing court docket calendar and Trial list
- Transcribe dictations and prepare summaries
- Manage file documents
- Proofread legal documents for accuracy and completeness
- Drafting medical indexes and chronologies
- Scheduling depositions, conferences, expert medical examinations, and more
Skills/Experience required:
- 1-3 years experience, knowledge of civil litigation, Workers' Compensation, and insurance defense preferred
- Strong organizational skills to manage multiple tasks efficiently
- Knowledge of CT superior court e-services, PACER, motions, discovery process, evidence, litigation documents, court rules and procedures
- Ability to transcribe accurately and efficiently
- Proficient Microsoft Office (word, outlook, excel), Adobe and typing skills
- Experience in legal drafting and preparing legal correspondence
- Strong attention to detail
