Our client is looking for a Senior Scientist to lead formulation development and innovation for a global brand and manufacturer in Miami. This is an exciting onsite role that will drive innovation across cosmetics, skin care, hair care, and body care.
Responsibilities:
- Developing innovative formulations for cosmetics, skin care, hair care, and body care, ensuring technical excellence, consumer appeal, and market relevance.
- Identifying and integrating new raw materials and technologies to drive product innovation and differentiation.
- Executing individual projects, developing new and improving existing products in response to market trends, customer demands, and availability of new technology.
- Troubleshooting technical issues related to stability, viscosity, pH, compatibility, and texture, delivering solutions that meet quality and performance standards.
- Effectively manages multiple projects within established timelines, prioritizing tasks to ensure timely delivery and optimal outcomes.
- Prepare lab batches of formulas needed for submitting samples for customer analysis within lab schedule, and reformulating / resubmitting them based on customer’s feedback.
- Optimize formulations to improve performance, cost-effectiveness, and production efficiency.
- Monitoring stability testing and analyzing results to maintain formula integrity under multiple conditions.
- Providing mentorship to junior chemists, fostering growth, and promoting lab efficiency.
- Ensuring formulations meet global regulatory compliance and internal quality standards.
Qualifications:
- 7 years of experience in formulation development for cosmetics, skin care, hair care, or body care.
- Bachelor’s degree (or higher) in Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, or related scientific discipline.
- Master’s degree in Cosmetic Science or related field, preferred
- Strong knowledge in formulating emulsions, serums, creams, gels, cleansers, and treatments with a proven ability to resolve technical challenges.
- Strong understanding of raw materials and their functionality, with a focus on performance-driven applications.
- Proven experience in GMP environment
