Job description and primary responsibilities
Operates sewing machines to produce mattress panels, gussets (inner panels) or velour panels. This includes sewing of special labels and swatches to the panel during the flanging process.
- Using both hands, carefully positions all materials for sewing
- Operates sewing machines using foot petal while continually positioning materials with both hands
- Pushes aside finished panel
- Re-threads sewing machines and replaces needles as needed
- Reloads flange machines with flange rolls
- Stands up and pulls carts of un-flanged panels to the workstation
- Sorts and stacks panels as needed
- Achieves production expectations per the training guidelines
- Performs other jobs in the sewing area as requested
- Performs all duties according to the established procedures and maintains workstation in a neat, clean, and orderly manner
- Performs all other duties as assigned by management
Minimum Hiring Requirements
- Must be authorized to work in the US without company sponsorship
- Must be at least 18 years of age

Skills and Abilities
- Good organizational skills and attention to detail
- Good hand/eye coordination
- Good understanding of warehouse safety regulation
- Basic ability to read/use a ruler, add/subtract and calculate fractions
- Must use a corner radius template to ensure work accuracy
- Prior experience in sewing/textile industry utilizing related machines
- Must stand and walk for a minimum of 8 hours per day or longer in overtime situations as required
- Must be able to lift heavy product or raw materials up to 120 pounds multiple times per hour (heavy loads must be team lifted)
- Ability to read, write and speak fluent English
