What are the responsibilities and job description for the Sustainable Investment Analyst position at Solum Partners?
Solum Partners is looking to add a Sustainable Investment Analyst to support all aspects of sustainable investing for prospective investments and portfolio companies. We are seeking an entrepreneurial, collaborative and self-directed candidate that can manage multiple projects simultaneously. The ideal candidate also has a passion for sustainable agriculture and the highest levels of integrity, professionalism and accountability.
Responsibilities
- Support the design, drafting and production of both annual and ad-hoc sustainability-related investor and organizational reporting
- Conduct on-site and virtual sustainability reviews of portfolio companies
- Work with deal teams to analyze and design plans to mitigate ESG-related risks for prospective investments and portfolio companies
- Manage and analyze datasets of environmental and social KPIs for portfolio companies, including annual measurement of greenhouse gas emissions (GHG)
- Provide ad-hoc support to deal teams and portfolio companies for sustainability projects
Required Skills and Experience
- Bachelor’s degree with exemplary academic credentials
- 0-2 years of post-bachelor’s experience in investment management, sustainability, or agribusiness
- Strong communication skills, including advanced Excel and PowerPoint proficiency
- Self-starter with ability to learn quickly and work independently with minimal supervision
- Team player with positive attitude who prioritizes success of the team over individual achievement
- Aptitude and curiosity to develop expertise on environmental, labor, and governance topics
- Strong work ethic, detail-oriented, and commitment to producing great end results
- Proficiency in data analytics, PowerBI, Python, etc. is a plus but not required
- Fluency or proficiency in Spanish or Portuguese is a plus but not required
- Willingness to travel domestically and internationally
