About the Job :
Assists IT Director in the overall direction for the desktop computing environment for SNHHS including deployment, ongoing maintenance and problem resolution of desktop and mobile computer systems. This position includes supervisory oversight of Desktop Support staff and oversee the performance of an outsourced service desk.
What You'll Do :
- Oversees the performance of the outsourced service desk
- Mentors Desktop Support staff in analyzing and resolving complex desktop issues and appropriately triages and escalates issues to other groups.
- Analyzes current workflow processes for areas of improvement and assists in developing new workflows.
- Assists in the planning and implementation of department-wide technical projects, taking a leadership role as those projects relate to desktops.
- Provides superior customer service to the user community for application and hardware related issues. Responds in a timely and professional manner to support requests via telephone, e-mail or in person. Meets or exceeds established Service Level Agreements.
- Analyzes, manages and resolves complex desktop and laptop computer technical issues in conjunction with all support teams. Appropriately logging and documenting support issues.
- Develops and plans annual budgets for the desktop team and participates in budgetary discussions for the Information Technology group.
- Participates in management meetings that affect day to day operations.
- Creates reporting metrics that measure the efficiency of the infrastructure teams.
- Maintains hardware, software and other inventories as needed or directed.
- Uses ITIL and ITSM best practices.
- Assists or manages various aspects of Cybersecurity initiatives.
- Hours vary based on Health System needs and can include nights and / or weekends.
- Requires occasional local travel and is part of a rotating 7x24 on-call schedule and may require off-hours work.
Who You Are :
Education : Bachelor's degree in MIS, Computer Science, Information Technology, or equivalent combination of education and experience is required.
Licensure / Certification : Industry certifications (MCSA, MCSE etc.) preferred
Experience : Required - A minimum of 3-5 years of experience managing a team supporting desktop hardware and infrastructure. Preferred - 5 years of experience managing a team supporting desktop hardware and infrastructure. Experience in a healthcare setting.
