POSITION DESCRIPTION: Reporting to the Warehouse Manager, the Production Programmer Machinist has an exciting opportunity to own the entire production machining process. The ideal candidate will utilize their strong multi-tasking and problem-solving skills to program, set-up, and operate a variety of machine tools to produce precision parts and instruments that fabricate, modify, and repair mechanical instruments and industrial machines. This Machinist will have previous programming experience, along with a strong desire for continuous education to ensure they are staying on top of industry trends, and evolving machining software, programs and skills. To excel in this role, the Production Programmer Machinist will be able to exercise their organizational and detail-oriented skills to deliver high quality product for the organization.
RESPONSBILITIES:

RESPONSBILITIES:
- Review samples, drawings, or instructions to understand specifications of output
- Select appropriate machines (e.g. lathes) to position or load material, and plan the sequence of necessary actions for the completion of a job
- Determine and program size of batches, speed of machine, take measurements and mark material for cutting or shaping
- Monitor the machine while working to adjust the feed, maintain temperature, identify issues, and check output to ensure consistency with specifications and discard defects
- Keep records of approved and defective units or final products
- Perform routine machine maintenance and repair minor damages
- Manage the production processes through work instructions, and document organization legacy information
- Maintain the machine Shop using 6S tools.
- Partner with the Engineering Department, as needed
- High School Diploma or Equivalent
- 2 Years of machine programming experience
- Experience in using and/or programming manual, semi-automated or automated tools and machines (preferably Haas lathes and mills, etc.)
- Ability to set up and run a Prototrak lathe
- Experience with keyway broaching
- Ability to use precision tools (i.e. calipers) to take accurate measurements
- Knowledge of the properties of metal and other material
- Strong mathematical skills with the ability to read and navigate blueprints, schematics and manuals
- Ability to lift and/or move up to 50 pounds and climb up/down a ladder
