Overview:
We are seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Accounting Clerk to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of GAAP principles and possess excellent organizational and analytical skills. As an Accounting Clerk, you will be responsible for assisting with various accounting tasks and ensuring accurate financial records.
Duties:
- Prepare and maintain financial records, including journal entries, general ledger accounts, and bank reconciliations
- Assist with month-end and year-end closing processes
- Process accounts payable and accounts receivable transactions
- Assist with payroll processing and ensure accurate calculation of wages, taxes, and deductions
- Perform data entry and maintain accurate records of financial transactions
- Assist in the preparation of financial statements and reports
- Conduct research on technical accounting issues as needed
- Collaborate with other departments to ensure compliance with financial policies and procedures
- Provide support during audits by preparing documentation and responding to inquiries
Requirements:
- Proven experience working in accounting or finance roles
- Proficient in using accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks) and MS Office Suite (especially Excel)
- Excellent attention to detail and accuracy
- Ability to analyze financial data and prepare reports
- Familiarity with governmental accounting is a plus
- Knowledge of 10-key typing is preferred
- Previous experience in public accounting or corporate accounting is a plus
