Position: Audiologist
Job Description: We are seeking an experienced Audiologist to join the audiology team at SLVHCS, delivering comprehensive hearing healthcare services to veterans. The ideal candidate will be responsible for performing diagnostic evaluations, administering hearing tests, developing treatment plans, and providing hearing aids or assistive devices. This is a critical role in improving the quality of life for veterans through personalized and compassionate care.
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct comprehensive audiological assessments, including hearing tests, to diagnose hearing loss and other auditory disorders.
- Develop individualized treatment plans for patients, including recommendations for hearing aids, cochlear implants, or other assistive listening devices.
- Fit and adjust hearing aids, providing training and counseling to patients on device use and care.
- Maintain accurate and confidential patient records, documenting test results and treatment plans.
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to ensure integrated patient care.
- Educate patients and families about hearing health, preventive care, and the impact of hearing loss.
- Participate in continuing education and stay current with advances in audiology and hearing technology.
- Comply with all regulations, guidelines, and policies of the VA and SLVHCS.
Qualifications:
- Required Education: Doctor of Audiology (Au.D.)
- Licensure: Current, active license to practice Audiology in the state of Louisiana.
- Experience: Minimum of 1-2 years of clinical experience in audiology, preferably in a medical or veteran-focused setting.
- Skills:
- Strong knowledge of audiology assessments, hearing aid technology, and rehabilitation techniques.
- Excellent communication skills, with the ability to educate and counsel patients effectively.
- Ability to work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team.
- Compassionate, patient-centered care approach.
- Strong organizational and record-keeping skills.
Job Types: Full-time, Contract
Pay: $44.00 - $53.00 per hour
