Since 1988, Somers Orthopaedic Surgery & Sports Medicine Group has been providing expert diagnosis and treatment of musculoskeletal conditions and injuries. The practice has locations in Carmel, Newburgh, Mount Kisco, and Fishkill, New York, and another in Danbury, Connecticut. Danbury is also the home of its Orthopaedic & Specialty Surgery Center, a leading multi-specialty surgical facility.

Team members specialize in all aspects of orthopaedic care, treating knee, hip, shoulder, elbow, wrist, hand, foot, and ankle pain. They also diagnose and treat a comprehensive range of cervical, thoracic, and lumbar spine conditions responsible for neck and back pain.

We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Physical Therapy Manager to join our growing orthopedic practice. The ideal candidate will be responsible for delivering high-quality care to patients recovering from orthopedic surgeries, injuries, and various musculoskeletal conditions. Duties & Responsibilities-

  • Work with executive and physician leadership in strategic planning to include but not limited to: opening new PT sites, modeling site build regarding equipment, staff and budget forecasting, as well as patient care and operational initiatives.
  • Oversee the daily operations of the Physical Therapy business line ensuring compliance with policies, regulations, and best practices.
  • Manage budgets, staffing, and resource allocation to optimize operational efficiency.
  • Direct patient care responsibilities as determined by best practices, physician requests, and or company vision.
  • Plan, direct, supervises and coordinates the activities of staff to ensure operational efficiency. Conduct assessment, and performance evaluations as needed. Manage and coordinate onboarding for all staff.
  • Serve as the customer service point person; identify trends and ensure best practices.
  • Serve as liaison to the PT staff, Front Desk, Executive and Physician leadership.
  • Provide quality care to patients by assessing and interpreting evaluations and test results; determine physical therapy treatment plans in consultation with physicians.
  • Collaborate closely with orthopedic surgeons, physicians, and other healthcare providers to ensure coordinated patient care.
  • Instruct, encourage, and assist patients in performing physical activities such as non-manual exercises, ambulatory functional activities, and daily living activities, as well as using assistive and supportive devices, such as crutches and canes.
  • Administer physical therapy treatments by giving massages, initiating traction, electrical muscle stimulation, hot packs, ice, and ultrasound.
  • Evaluate the effects of physical therapy treatments by observing, noting, and evaluating patient's progress; recommend adjustments and modifications.
  • Educate patients and their families on self-care techniques, injury prevention, and rehabilitation strategies.
  • Protect patients and employees by adhering to infection-control policies and protocols.
  • Provide mentoring and guidance to less experienced staff or students, contributing to their professional development.



Education & Training-

  • Doctor of Physical Therapy (DPT) degree from an accredited program.
  • A valid New York and Connecticut Physical Therapy license and registration



Knowledge & Experience-

  • Experience working in an outpatient musculo-skeletal practice preferred
  • Strong knowledge of orthopedic conditions, anatomy, and musculoskeletal rehabilitation.
