Somerset Academy Canyons is seeking a reliable and responsible School Bus Driver to safely transport middle and high school students to and from school for athletic games, field trips, and special events. The ideal candidate will have a strong commitment to safety, excellent driving skills, and the ability to communicate effectively with students, parents, and school staff. The candidate MUST have their CDL license.
Key Responsibilities:
- Safely transport students following a scheduled route and time table.
- Conduct pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections to ensure the bus is in safe operating condition.
- Maintain order and discipline on the bus while fostering a positive environment.
- Assist students with boarding and exiting the bus safely, if needed.
- Report any incidents, delays, or mechanical issues to the appropriate authorities.
- Comply with all traffic regulations and school policies.
- Attend periodic training and safety meetings as required.
Qualifications:
- Valid Florida Commercial Driver’s License (CDL) with passenger and school bus endorsements.
- Clean driving record with no serious traffic violations.
- Previous experience as a bus driver or in a similar role preferred.
- Ability to manage time effectively and adhere to a schedule.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
- Ability to pass a background check and drug test prior to employment.
