Position Summary
Under the supervision of the Clinical Supervisor, the Peer Recovery Support Coach engages clients as they navigate their involuntary commitment process. The Peer Recovery Support Coach will employ a set of non-clinical, peer-based activities that engage, educate, and support a client to successfully make the life changes necessary to toward acceptance of mental health and other critical services, as well as assist in stabilization in the community. The Peer Recovery Support Coach will provide peer-to-peer counseling both in the client's home and in community settings. With the assistance of the treatment team the Peer Recovery Support Coach will provide linkage to needed recovery resources and supports in the community to support and strengthen the client's capacity to engage in healthy practices. The Peer Recovery Support Coach will assist treatment team members to understand the client experience, share his/her experience to support and strengthen the development of the individual.

Essential Functions
- Teach and role model the value of recovery by offering support which includes sharing their recovery experiences
- Assist clients in creating WRAP Plans/PAD and engage in advocacy on behalf of the client
- Facilitate peer support groups as need is identified
- Serve as a recovery agent providing advocacy and assistance for the individual to obtain services that suit their recovery needs by providing outreach and engagement via warm hand-offs (including transportation) in the Center and throughout the community; Transport clients to appointments within the community as related to the service plan.
- Assist team and individual in the development of a recovery plan based on the individual's identified goals inclusive of strengths, needs and abilities
- Documents all clinical activity and correspondence in accordance with Center policy, state regulations, and Joint Commission standards. 7. Engage in trainings and activities, including but not limited to in-house training and statewide initiative, for professional growth.
- Coordinate with state-wide Peers in Involuntary Outpatient Commitment programs.
- Participates in team meetings and supervision, provides rotating 24 hour on call weekends.
- Performs other related duties as assigned.
- High School Diploma or equivalent
- Certified Recovery Support Practitioner (CRSP) credential through the NJ Certification Board
- Two years' experience as a recovery support practitioner providing services to individuals and their families/caregivers who have mental health disorders
- Has experience in working across cultures.
- Must possess a valid NJ driver's license in good standing.
- Skill in the operation of office equipment, including but not limited to computers, printers, copiers, calculators, and other job specific equipment.
- Ability to work collaboratively and build relationships with colleagues, coworkers, vendors, contractors, and the public.
- Ability to accurately prepare and maintain files, records, reports, and logs.
- Skill in using computer applications including electronic health record, spreadsheets, databases, and word processing software.
- Ability to identify and maintain confidential information.
- Ability to comprehend, express and exchange information in English and Spanish over the phone, in person, in writing or through other communication or electronic devices.
- Knowledge of Wellness and Recovery Principles, Person Centered Care, Trauma Informed Care and Integrated Healthcare.
