REPORTS TO: Director of Financial Services
DEFINITION: Under general supervision, processes and maintains payroll and procurement records and reports for Somerton School District #11.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

TASKS:
Assist with bi-weekly payroll process and other payroll tasks as needed and in the absence of Payroll Manager. Reviews and audits purchase requisitions for correct coding, signatures and appropriate information; maintains bid list of vendors; performs annual inventory; and maintains fixed asset listing. Coordinates and assists departments in soliciting for its procurement needs through existing state and agency-specific contracts. Provides purchasing expertise by reviewing purchase requests; working with staff to clarify requirements and develop specifications; tracking and following-up as necessary. Must be able to organize items for surplus/auction. Reviews all purchasing functions involving the acquisition of all materials, equipment, services and construction projects including related contract documents. Answers questions and provides information in person and on the telephone. Establishes and maintains accurate financial document files. Inputs data into the financial system. Interacts with employees and vendors to answer questions and performs related duties as assigned.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
Work is performed in an indoor environment. Work requires frequent standing, walking, and sitting. Some positions may require bending and lifting up to 25 pounds.
QUALIFICATIONS:
High School Diploma or GED. Three (3) years experience in bookkeeping and/or payroll environment preferred. Fingerprint Clearance Card (IVP) required at the time of hiring. Additional certifications may also be required as specified by the District.
Depending on the needs of the District, some incumbents in this class must be able to demonstrate fluency in both English and Spanish as a condition of employment.
