What are the responsibilities and job description for the 2025 Summer Programs - High School: Co-Directors position at SOMERVILLE HIGH SCHOOL?
Preferred Qualifications:
- Master’s Degree
- Evidence of five years of successful teaching experience, PTS preferred
- Demonstrated experience as an administrator or supervisor
- Experience supervising multi-dimensional program(s) (student safety, program planning, supervision of staff, interns, and volunteers, managing supplies, etc.)
- Experience and aptitude for building and sustaining collaboration with community partners
- Ability to maintain a safe and healthy environment for students; maintains and responds to social and emotional needs of students and staff
- Knowledge and appreciation of cultural difference; commitment to removing barriers to equity, access, and inclusion
Responsibilities:
- Summer School Session: Must be available for on-site support for summer session
- Oversee the fiscal management of summer school
- Respond to program crisis situations and be point of contact for staff, student and families when needed
- Keep track of daily attendance and notify supervisor(s) of students with attendance concerns
- Compile program data including, but not limited to student academic progress, pre/post testing assessments, attendance by end of program
- Supervise summer teachers and all instructional activities.
- Coordinate the administration of the summer school program, which includes student registration, class scheduling and teacher assignment.
- Supervise the maintenance of accurate records on the academic progress and attendance of students.
- Conduct staff meetings, as necessary, for the proper functioning of the summer school.
- Assist in the screening, hiring and assigning of summer school teachers.
- Maintain high standards of student conduct and enforce discipline as necessary.
- Assess all summer school activities and provide recommendations for the improvement of future summer programs.
- Ensure program clean-up happens at the end of program
- Perform any and all other duties as assigned by the Principal of Somerville High School & Co-Directors of Summer Programs.

Stipend: $6,000
Mandatory Orientation and Professional Development Days: Week of June 23, 2025 (or as scheduled)
Program Schedule:
Monday-Friday
July 7, 2025 – August 8, 2025
8am-1pm, 5 days per week
