Job Summary:

As a CAD Design Engineer, you will be responsible for creating detailed technical drawings and 3D models using Computer-Aided Design (CAD) software. Your primary focus will be designing and developing products or components to meet the specified requirements and standards. Collaboration with cross-functional teams, including engineers and project managers, will be essential to bring designs from concept to completion. Your role will involve creating accurate and precise drawings and staying updated on industry standards, design trends, and emerging technologies.

Responsibilities:

1. Design Development:
   • Utilize CAD software to create detailed 2D drawings and 3D models based on project specifications.
   • Collaborate with engineers and other team members to understand design requirements and constraints.
   • Ensure that designs comply with industry standards, regulations, and company guidelines.
2. Prototyping and Testing Support:
   • Assist in creating prototypes and supported the testing and validation of designs.
   • Modify designs based on feedback from prototype testing, ensuring continuous improvement.
3. Documentation:
   • Prepare comprehensive design documentation, including drawings, specifications, and calculations.
   • Oversee revision control of drawings.
   • Maintain accurate records of design changes and updates.
4. Collaboration:
   • Work closely with cross-functional teams, including mechanical engineers, electrical engineers, and project managers, to integrate various components into a cohesive design.
   • Participate in design review meetings and provide constructive feedback.
5. Quality Assurance:
   • Conduct design reviews to identify potential issues and ensure the quality and accuracy of design output.
   • Work closely with quality control teams to address any design-related issues during production.
6. Stay Informed:
   • Stay updated on industry trends, new CAD technologies, and design methodologies.
   • Continuously seek opportunities to enhance design processes and incorporate best practices.
7. Collaborative Problem Solving:
   • Actively engage in problem-solving activities, collaborating with team members to address design challenges.
   • Contribute creative and innovative solutions to design problems.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering, Product Design, or a related field.
• Proven experience in CAD design, with proficiency in industry-standard software (e.g., SolidWorks, AutoCAD).
• Strong understanding of engineering principles and the ability to apply them to design tasks.
• Excellent attention to detail and accuracy in design work.
• Effective communication skills for collaboration with cross-functional teams.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
• Familiarity with manufacturing processes and materials.
• Knowledge of industry standards and regulations relevant to the specific field.
