SUMMARY
Optimizes equipment performance in the assigned area by performing repairs, modifications, installations, and preventive maintenance on electrical and mechanical equipment, including motors, pneumatic tools, conveyor systems, and production machines. This role supports Somic America, Inc.’s (SAI) quality goals and plant-wide objectives, as outlined in the SAI Quality Manual and Quality Policy.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following, with other duties assigned as necessary:
- Provide technical support to the assigned manufacturing team (e.g., Machining or Assembly).
- Actively participate in the following:
- Diagnosing and repairing equipment failures (electrical, mechanical, pneumatic, hydraulic, PLCs, CNC).
- Assisting in the training of operators.
- Supporting changeovers and Kaizen/OEE improvements.
- Assisting with the implementation of standardized work for equipment operation and changeovers.
- Assisting in the execution of operator and technical preventive maintenance (PM) tasks.
- Contributing to the development of equipment PM schedules.
- Assisting with equipment layout and product flow optimization.
- Supporting machine acceptance criteria and spare part requirements.
- Participating in 5S activities for the assigned area.
- Leading small group meetings and continuous improvement projects.
- Maintain a clean, safe work area and work in accordance with safety protocols.
- Submit suggestions for process improvements and lead teams to successfully implement changes.
- Assist with facilities-related maintenance activities as needed.
EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE
- Associate's degree (A.A.) or equivalent from a two-year college or technical school, or
- Three to five years of related experience and/or training, or
- An equivalent combination of education, experience, and training.
