Schedules are as follows: Day shift schedule: Monday - Friday 6AM - 2PM; Swing Shift: Monday - Friday 2PM - 10PM; Graveyard Sunday - Friday 10PM - 6AM
Wage: $17.50/hr. $1.00/hr. Shift Differential for Swing Shift or $1.50/hr. Shift Differential for Graveyard (Sign-On Bonus Eligible Paid Lunch)
SUMMARY:
The primary purpose of this position is to move paper loads with a pallet jack and use an aerator machine to remove defects.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Please note that this list is ILLUSTRATIVE only and is not a comprehensive listing of all functions and duties performed by an incumbent in this role. Duties and responsibilities may include but are not limited to the following:
- Cork dies
- Relieve the pre-make ready person. Put stripping boards together after they are cut on the Gerber machine
- Relieve Baler operator when needed. Banding all make ready for stock for the recycler
- Prep / aerate/ stage loads for the cutting and printing departments as directed
- Remove defects and sort areas from the loads
- Band loads for outside processing and complete paperwork as necessary
- Work as part of a team and be able to follow verbal and written instructions
- Ensures and maintains safe and healthful working conditions while enforcing safety rules and regulations
- Maintains regular and predictable attendance; must be able to work overtime when department and/or company needs arise and/or be on call as directed by managements.
- Performs all work duties and activities in accordance with company policies, practices and values.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
- Must be 18 years of age or older
- High school diploma or equivalent (preferred)
- Previous manufacturing experience is a plus but not required
- Forklift and pallet jack experience is a plus but not required
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES
- Broad training in a related professional field usually acquired through education or equivalent combination knowledge, skills, education or work-related experience.
- Detail oriented
- Ability to learn how to troubleshoot problems to conduct preventative maintenance as needed
- Ability to identify paper and cardboard recycling by placing them in the proper containers
