Senior Accountant

The Senior Accountant is responsible for managing the day-to-day accounting functions within the wholesale division, ensuring accurate financial records, compliance with regulations, and efficient reporting processes. This position requires strong technical accounting skills, attention to detail, and the ability to analyze financial data to support business operations.

Key Responsibilities :

• Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements (balance sheet, income statement, cash flow).
• Assist in the preparation of consolidated financial reports.
• Review financial reports to ensure accuracy, completeness, and compliance with GAAP (Generally Accepted Accounting Principles) or IFRS (International Financial Reporting Standards).
• Oversee and maintain the general ledger, ensuring all transactions are recorded accurately.
• Reconcile accounts and resolve discrepancies in a timely manner.
• Post journal entries and adjustments to the ledger.
• Oversee accounts payable and receivable processes, ensuring timely payments and collections.
• Work closely with procurement and sales teams to manage vendor and customer accounts.
• Monitor aging reports and follow up on overdue payments.
• Work with inventory teams to ensure accurate tracking of goods and related costs.
• Review and analyze cost structures to identify discrepancies or opportunities for cost control.
• Prepare inventory reconciliations and address issues related to inventory management.
• Assist in the development of annual budgets and forecasts.
• Analyze variances between actual and budgeted performance and provide recommendations to management.
• Prepare and present financial forecasts to senior management.
• Ensure compliance with all regulatory requirements and industry standards.
• Review and implement internal controls to safeguard the company's financial resources.
• Support external and internal audits by preparing necessary documentation and addressing auditor inquiries.
• Prepare or assist in the preparation of tax filings (e.g., sales tax, VAT, and corporate taxes).
• Ensure timely and accurate submission of tax documents.
• Stay up-to-date on changes in tax laws and regulations affecting the wholesale industry.
• Conduct financial analysis to support business decisions, including profitability analysis, break-even analysis, and cash flow projections.
• Prepare ad hoc financial reports for senior management.
• Supervise junior accounting staff, providing guidance and support.
• Assist in training new team members and developing their accounting skills.
• Conduct performance reviews for accounting team members.

We are specifically seeking local area candidates as this role requires the individual to work onsite at the company's office location.

C ompensation : $90,000-$110,000 a year

Salary is based on a range of factors that include relevant experience, knowledge, skills, other job-related qualifications.
