A dynamic and rapidly growing logistics company, near East Windsor, NJ, is seeking a highly motivated and experienced Accounting Manager to join their team. This critical role will be responsible for overseeing various accounting functions, ensuring financial accuracy, and supporting the company's continued growth.
The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of complex accounting principles, experience with private equity reporting, and a proven track record of process improvement.
Responsibilities:
- Financial Reporting: Oversee the preparation and analysis of accurate and timely financial statements (monthly, quarterly, and annual) in accordance with GAAP. Manage the monthly, quarterly, and year-end close processes, ensuring adherence to deadlines.
- Private Equity Reporting: Prepare and manage reporting packages for private equity investors, including performance metrics, financial analysis, and other required information. Maintain strong relationships with private equity stakeholders.
- Compliance: Ensure compliance with all relevant accounting regulations, tax laws, and internal policies. Stay updated on changes in accounting standards and implement necessary adjustments.
- Month-End Close Improvement: Identify and implement process improvements to streamline and accelerate the month-end close process. Develop and maintain checklists and timelines to ensure timely completion.
- Complex Accounting: Handle complex accounting issues, including revenue recognition, lease accounting, and consolidation. Provide guidance and support to other team members on complex accounting matters.
- Intercompany Reconciliations: Manage and reconcile intercompany transactions, ensuring accuracy and resolving discrepancies.
- Departmental Assessments: Conduct periodic assessments of departmental financial performance, identifying areas for improvement and providing recommendations to management.
- Software Integrations: Lead or participate in the integration of new accounting software and systems, including Sage Intacct. Ensure data integrity and efficient system utilization.
- Acquisitions: Support the accounting due diligence and integration process for acquisitions, including financial statement analysis, purchase accounting, and post-acquisition integration.
Requirements:
- Supervision: Previous experience needed in supervising an Accounting Team
- Software: Prior experience needed with larger ERP systems (Sage Intaact a big plus) as well as advanced Microsoft Excel (vlookups, pivot tables, formulas/functions)
- Private Equity: Previous experience working for or with PE is a big plus
- Accounting: Strong understanding of GAAP and other relevant accounting regulations.
Compensation: $58-$72/ Hour
Salary is based on a range of factors that include relevant experience, knowledge, skills, other job-related qualifications.
