The Construction Staff Accountant will be responsible for performing accounting tasks related to construction projects, including tracking project costs, preparing financial statements, handling accounts payable and receivable, reconciling accounts, and ensuring that all financial data aligns with company policies and industry regulations. This position will work closely with project managers, contractors, and other team members to ensure accurate financial reporting and budget management.
Key Responsibilities
- :Accounts Payable/Receivable: Process and manage accounts payable and receivable for construction projects, ensuring timely and accurate payments to vendors and subcontractors
- .Job Costing: Monitor and track costs associated with specific projects, including labor, materials, equipment, and overhead expenses. Reconcile project costs with budgeted amounts
- .Billing and Invoicing: Prepare and send invoices for work completed on projects, ensuring proper documentation and compliance with contractual terms
- .Financial Reporting: Assist in preparing monthly and quarterly financial statements, including balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow statements, specifically related to construction projects
- .General Ledger Maintenance: Maintain accurate and up-to-date general ledger entries for all construction-related financial activities
- .Budget Monitoring: Assist in the development and monitoring of project budgets. Ensure that costs do not exceed the projected budget and flag any discrepancies
- .Compliance and Auditing: Ensure that all accounting procedures comply with company policies, industry standards, and legal requirements. Assist in internal and external audits
- .Reconciliation: Perform monthly reconciliations of bank statements, credit card transactions, and construction project accounts to ensure accuracy
- .Payroll Processing: Assist with payroll for field staff and contractors, ensuring timely and correct compensation according to contract terms
