We are looking for a skilled Telecom Technician to join our team, responsible for installing, maintaining, and troubleshooting telecommunications systems. The role involves working closely with the Director of User Experience (U/X) and the Telecom Manager to ensure seamless service delivery and address technical issues. This individual will assist with telecom project planning, provide training, technical support, and manage service provider relationships. The position requires travel across NYC’s five boroughs.
Key Responsibilities:
- Install, configure, and maintain telecommunications equipment, including VOIP systems.
- Troubleshoot and repair telecom equipment, ensuring optimal performance.
- Support internal staff with training and ongoing technical support.
- Research and provide analysis on telecom services, hardware, and software solutions.
- Assist with special projects, including audio/video needs and hardware/software recommendations.
- Maintain records of work performed and equipment inventory.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree and 3-5 years of technical support experience or equivalent.
- Strong knowledge of telecom systems, VOIP, fiber optics, and DSL.
- Excellent communication and troubleshooting skills.
- Basic networking knowledge (TCP/IP, routing fundamentals).
- Ability to work under pressure, lead teams, and maintain confidentiality.
- Occasional travel within NYC’s five boroughs.
Compensation: $40-45/hr
