What are the responsibilities and job description for the Director of Rooms position at Sonnenalp Hotel?
We are currently hiring a Director of Rooms to join our senior leadership team. This is a full time year round position, with a desired start date of March 1, 2025.
Wage: $110,000-130,000 plus 20% bonus potential and deferred compensation plan
Primary Purpose of Position
The Director of Rooms provides strategic leadership and operational oversight for all aspects of the Rooms Division at the Sonnenalp Hotel, ensuring exceptional guest experiences and adherence to the hotel's high standards. This role encompasses management of Front Office, Guest Services, Ski Concierge, Activities, Spa, and Housekeeping departments. The Director of Rooms champions a culture of service excellence, drives continuous improvement, and achieves financial objectives within established budgets and brand standards.
Desired Skills & Experience
- Minimum 4 years of progressive Rooms Division management experience (Front Office, Housekeeping, Spa), preferably in a luxury resort setting.
- 3-5 years of experience as a Rooms Manager/Director of Rooms preferred.
- Proven ability to lead, motivate, and develop high-performing teams.
- Strong financial management skills, including budgeting, forecasting, and expense control.
- Excellent communication, interpersonal, and problem-solving skills.
- Proficiency in Property Management Systems (PMS) (experience with HMS or similar preferred) and other relevant software.
- Ability to anticipate guest needs, adapt to changing priorities, and multitask effectively.
- Flexible availability, including nights, weekends, and holidays.
- Working proficiency in Spanish preferred.
