The Sonnenalp is looking for a Full-Time Seasonal Assistant Golf Professional with the desired start date of April 1st. this date is flexible.
Wage Range: $24.00 - $28.00/hour
Typical Schedule: Must be available 5 days a week, must be able to work weekends and holidays, including opening and closing shifts.
Primary Purpose of Position
Assist the Head Golf Professional with all Golf Operations activities. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to customer service, tournament operations, day-to-day merchandising practices, and teaching. Looking for a goal-oriented individual willing to work as a team to provide a "World Class Service" to all members and guests.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Assist Golf Professional in the management and set-up of all golf tournaments, youth programs, and member programs
- Assist in preparing financial and other reports regarding operation of the golf course and related facilities
- Assist in training and supervision of golf shop staff
- Training and supervision of the outside services team
- Ensure proper registration of golfers; to include handling reservations and starting times
- Provide world class quality customer service at all times
- Assist members by providing and interpreting golf policies and enforcing club rules, and regulations
- Coordinate assigned activities and functions relating to golf operations in according with golf course policies
- Take reservations and assign play of golfers
- Collect greens fees
- Maintain golf shop in a clean and neat and working area orderly
- Ensure opening and closing of pro shop
- Perform proper cash handling/management procedures
- Sell merchandise and hard-goods within the pro-shop
- Assist in conducting individual golf lessons
- Promote Sonnenalp Hotel and its facilities
- Ensure golf course is properly marked for tournament play
- Attend all required staff meetings
- Present all club initiatives and operational produces in a positive manner to all staff members
- Perform other appropriate tasks assigned by the Golf Professional
Education/Experience
- Graduation from a four-year college or university of recognized standing
- PGA member or currently enrolled in Level 3, or apprentice with a desire to further their career and become a Head Golf Professional
- Experience at a high end private club or resort preferred
Special Skills/Equipment
- Basic computer skills
- Maintain certification in First Aid and CPR training
- Knowledge of golf course management and operation practices and procedures
- Professional knowledge of the standards techniques of playing and teaching golf and of golf terminology and etiquette
- Knowledge of golf-related concessions, equipment merchandising, maintenance of course, and related facilities
- Ability to evaluate market trends in golf-related sportswear and equipment
- Well organized and detail oriented
Essential Physical Requirements
- Frequent reaching, standing, walking, stooping, kneeling, crouching, and balancing
- Able to stand and/or walk for duration of shift
- Able to lift and/or move up to 50 lbs and occasionally lift and/or move more than 100 lbs
- Vision abilities include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus
