Sonobond Ultrasonics Inc., a leading manufacturer of ultrasonic bonding equipment, is seeking a results-driven and experienced Production Manager to oversee day-to-day operations in our manufacturing facility. This role is critical to ensure on-time delivery of high-quality machinery and spare parts, while fostering a culture of innovation, accountability, and continuous improvement.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and manage practical, efficient production schedules aligned with sales forecasts and customer lead time requirements.
- Work cross-functionally with Purchasing, Engineering, and Sales to ensure alignment of resources, materials, and timelines.
- Provide oversight and direction to the following departments:
- Mechanical Assembly
- Electrical Assembly
- Machine Shop
- Inventory Management
- Quality Control
- Shipping & Receiving
- Lead daily and weekly production meetings; deliver presentations to communicate project status, resolve bottlenecks, and drive alignment.
- Hold team members accountable for performance, safety, and quality standards while encouraging a positive and motivated work environment.
- Read and interpret engineering blueprints and technical drawings, with a strong understanding of tight tolerance specifications.
- Apply and uphold best practices in budgeting, cost control, and resource management.
- Champion lean manufacturing principles and maintain a clean, organized, and efficient workspace through 5S methodology.
- Continuously evaluate production processes and workflows; identify areas for improvement and implement best practices.
- Train, develop, and coach personnel on proper procedures, quality standards, and productivity strategies.
Qualifications
- Proven experience in a production or manufacturing management role, preferably within industrial equipment or machinery.
- Strong understanding of mechanical and electrical assembly processes, machining, and quality control systems.
- Skilled in reading blueprints and working with components requiring tight tolerances.
- Demonstrated experience managing budgets, schedules, and resources effectively.
- Hands-on knowledge of 5S, lean manufacturing, and continuous improvement methodologies.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, with advanced Microsoft Excel skills (e.g., pivot tables, production tracking, data analysis, scheduling tools) essential for performance monitoring and reporting.
- Excellent leadership, organizational, and communication skills.
- Ability to motivate cross-functional teams and drive accountability in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.
- Strong problem-solving skills and a proactive, solution-oriented mindset.
Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Industrial Management, Operations, or related field.
- Experience with ERP/MRP systems and production planning software.
