The Project Coordinator will play a critical role in guiding the implementation of the framework and advancing equitable, high-leverage practices in mathematics education. Responsibilities: This position involves the planning, preparation, and delivery of dynamic professional learning experiences customized to address the specific needs of educators, schools, and districts across Sonoma County. The overarching objective is to enhance learning outcomes for all students in mathematics, with a particular emphasis on fostering improvement among culturally, linguistically, and socioeconomically diverse student populations. Education: -Master’s Degree from an accredited institution of higher education is desired. Experience: -In positions with progressively increasing responsibility and professional experience in the field of education. -In staff development and/or in-service training experience. -In site and district leadership is desired. -In leading professional learning. -In teaching Elementary Mathematics is required. -In teaching Secondary Mathematics is desired. Credentials: -A valid California Multiple Subjects Teaching Credential is required and a Single Subject Math Credential is highly desired. -A valid California Administrative Services credential is required.

The aim is to build impactful relationships with school sites and districts in order to provide ongoing, job-embedded coaching that results in changes in teacher practices and improvements in student learning outcomes. Additionally, the Project Coordinator will facilitate opportunities for educators from various systems in Sonoma County to learn together, collaborate, and exchange ideas. The Project Coordinator is expected to model and support classroom efforts to enhance math skills across grade levels in mathematics. The role serves as a valuable resource to schools and districts during the exploration, review, and adoption of math instructional materials and course models. Addressing existing inequities in math education within the current system is a key focus. Staying informed about current state and national trends, policies, and initiatives in math education—as well as best practices in coaching and adult learning—is critical to success in this role. *Requirement: Appropriate valid California Administrative Services credential. Current teaching credential. Other Requirements: -Must be fingerprinted and a satisfactory Department of Justice and Federal Bureau of Investigation records check must be received by SCOE, prior to employment. -TB testing will be required upon employment.
