What you will be doing :
The Academic Scheduling Specialist assists students and staff with a variety of academic services, while ensuring compliance with all regulatory agencies. The Academic Scheduling Specialist will be responsible for ensuring schedules and academic records are correct and updated timely. The Academic Scheduling Specialists collaborates with other members of the Registrar team to assist in other duties that contribute to the overall success of the Office of the Registrar.
- Maintain the integrity of student records
- Run registration tracks daily to create initial course schedules
- Adjusts student schedules based on transfer credits, unsuccessful grades, non-starts, and dropped courses in alignment with SDI's semesters
- Ensure Financial Services is notified of schedule changes for award review
- Register students for courses and make manual adjustments to schedules and terms for Re-Entry and continuing students
- Update general education and elective selections in accordance with deadlines for faculty scheduling
- Coordinate with Student Success Coach regarding outstanding course selections
- Monitor and coordinate with Registrars to request additional course and date availability
- Assist in balancing course sections weekly
- Utilize reporting tools and functions within the student information system to create reports, automate processes and ensure accuracy of data
- Adjust expected graduation dates according to schedule changes
- Determine students' graduation eligibility
- Demonstrate outstanding customer service to students and staff
- Participate in professional development opportunities
- Other tasks as assigned
