Responsibilities
- Assist pharmacists in preparing and dispensing medications accurately and efficiently.
- Maintain medication inventory by monitoring stock levels and placing orders as necessary.
- Provide exceptional patient service by answering questions, offering guidance on medication usage, and addressing concerns.
- Utilize aseptic techniques when compounding sterile products to ensure safety and compliance with health regulations.
- Support medication administration processes, including inhalation therapies, under the supervision of a licensed pharmacist.
- Document all medication orders and patient interactions accurately in accordance with legal and regulatory standards.
- Collaborate with healthcare professionals to optimize patient care outcomes through effective communication and teamwork.
Qualifications
- Certification as a Pharmacy Technician is required.
- Strong understanding of pharmacy operations, including medication preparation, dispensing, and storage.
- Familiarity with medical terminology related to pharmaceuticals and patient care.
- Experience in acute care or critical care environments is preferred but not mandatory.
- Excellent communication skills with a focus on patient service and support.
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail.
- Knowledge of aseptic techniques is highly desirable.
