Phlebotomist

Job Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Phlebotomist to join our healthcare team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for performing venipunctures and collecting blood samples from patients while ensuring a high standard of patient care and safety. This role requires proficiency in laboratory techniques and procedures, as well as strong interpersonal skills to provide excellent patient service.

Responsibilities

• Perform venipuncture and capillary punctures to collect blood specimens from patients.
• Ensure the proper use of aseptic techniques to maintain safety and prevent contamination.
• Prepare specimens for laboratory analysis by following established laboratory procedures.
• Maintain accurate records of patient information, specimen collection, and laboratory results.
• Communicate effectively with patients to explain procedures and alleviate concerns.
• Adhere to all safety protocols and guidelines within the clinical laboratory environment.
• Collaborate with healthcare professionals to ensure optimal patient care and service delivery.

Experience

• Proficiency in laboratory techniques and procedures relevant to phlebotomy.
• Knowledge of clinical laboratory operations and medical terminology.
• Strong understanding of human physiology and anatomy as it relates to blood collection.
• Previous experience in patient care or a clinical setting is preferred but not required.
• Excellent communication skills with a focus on patient service and comfort.

Pay: $21.79 - $22.34 per hour
