Job Title: Maintenance Technician

FLSA Status: Hourly

SUMMARY
Responsible for the safe maintenance, repair or replacement of plant equipment and systems, to ensure maximum production quantity and quality, while supporting the policies, goals, and objectives of the company.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
  • Initiates and carries out projects that improve efficiency and/or reduce operating costs.
  • Perform highly diversified duties to install and maintain production machines and the plant facility’s equipment.
  • Provide emergency/unscheduled repairs of production equipment during production and perform scheduled maintenance repairs of production equipment during machine service.
  • Perform mechanic skills including, but not limited to, mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, hydraulic, troubleshooting, and repair of production machines.
  • Read and interpret equipment manuals and work orders to perform required maintenance and service.
  • Troubleshoot, repair, and maintain production/facilities equipment. Diagnose problems, replace, or repair parts, test and adjust.
  • Perform regular preventive maintenance on machines, equipment, and plant facilities.
  • Use a variety of hand and power tools, electric meters, and material handling equipment in performing duties.
  • Point person for safety and regulatory compliance. Member of safety committee.
  • Maintain calibration /maintenance activities of solder irons, calipers, and ESD testing.
  • Tracks, analyzes, and improves key maintenance parameters such as equipment uptime, maintenance cost, PM compliance, schedule compliance, etc.
  • Download data from T/H monitors.
  • Monitor X-ray dosimeter reading at required intervals.
  • Coordinate facility's FOD prevention activities.
  • Work on special projects as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE
Associate's degree (A. A.) in engineering from a two-year college or university, or equivalent military or job experience.

COMPUTER SKILLS

Demonstrate intermediate-level proficiency in MS Office and job-related computer software.
LANGUAGE SKILLS
Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations. Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals. Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the general public.
MATHEMATICAL SKILLS
Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, percentages, area, circumference, and volume. Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra and geometry.
REASONING ABILITY
Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions. Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables.
