Position Overview:
We are seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Hospitality Controller to oversee the financial operations of our hotel properties. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in hotel finance, proficiency in QuickBooks Online, and possess excellent analytical and organizational skills. This role requires a proactive individual who can implement effective financial controls and provide strategic insights to support our company’s growth.
Key Responsibilities:
• Financial Reporting: Prepare and analyze monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements, ensuring accuracy and compliance with industry standards.
• Budgeting and Forecasting: Develop and manage annual budgets and forecasts in collaboration with department heads, monitoring performance and addressing variances.
• Internal Controls: Establish and maintain robust internal control systems to safeguard assets and ensure financial data integrity.
• Cash Flow Management: Monitor cash flow to ensure sufficient funds are available for operational needs and strategic initiatives.
• Audit Coordination: Lead internal and external audit processes, ensuring timely and accurate information is provided.
• Tax Compliance: Oversee tax planning and compliance, ensuring all filings are accurate and timely.
• Team Leadership: Supervise and mentor accounting staff, fostering a culture of continuous improvement and professional development.
• System Management: Oversee the implementation and optimization of financial systems, including QuickBooks Online, to enhance efficiency and reporting capabilities.
Qualifications:
• Education: Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field. CPA or CMA certification is preferred.
• Experience: Minimum of 5 years of accounting experience in the hospitality industry, with at least 2 years in a supervisory role.
• Technical Skills: Proficiency in QuickBooks Online and Microsoft Office Suite; experience with other accounting software is a plus.
• Analytical Skills: Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities, with a keen attention to detail.
• Communication: Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to present financial information clearly to non-financial stakeholders.
• Organizational Skills: Exceptional organizational and time-management skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities effectively.
• Initiative: Self-starter with the ability to work independently and as part of a team, demonstrating a proactive approach to problem-solving.
