What are the responsibilities and job description for the Head of Hardware Engineering position at Sorting Tab?
Head of Hardware Engineering, you will lead a multidisciplinary team of 30 engineers to take innovative embedded products from concept through to large-scale production. You will collaborate with supply chain partners, vendors, and contractors to ensure seamless product delivery.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead cross-functional teams of electrical, mechanical, and embedded engineers.
- Oversee product development from prototyping to production.
- Manage hardware and software product lifecycles for products designed to withstand challenging environments.
- Coordinate with various departments (supply chain, production, field support) to ensure successful product launch and field deployment.
- Supervise engineers working with Linux (Ubuntu), POSIX, and RTOS (NuttX, QNX, VxWorks).
- Review schematics and hardware documentation to facilitate driver development.
Qualifications:
- Education: B.S., M.S., or Ph.D. in Robotics, Computer Science, Electrical, Mechanical, or Aerospace Engineering.
- Experience: 5 years of leadership managing teams of 20 engineers.
- Proven ability to drive product development from prototype to production.
- Experience collaborating with cross-functional teams to meet product goals.
- Knowledge of embedded systems and hardware documentation for driver development.
