Job Title: IT Director of Application Production Support
Location: Blue Bell, PA (Hybrid – 3 days onsite per week)
Position Overview
We are seeking an experienced IT Director of Application Production Support to establish and lead a high-performing application support organization in the commercial insurance industry. In this newly created role, you will be responsible for ensuring the stability, availability, and performance of enterprise applications. You will develop production support strategies, oversee daily operations, and collaborate with IT and business stakeholders to enhance application performance and user satisfaction.
Key Responsibilities Leadership & Strategy
- Develop and implement a comprehensive production support strategy, aligning with industry best practices.
- Build, lead, and manage the application production support team, fostering a culture of continuous improvement.
- Establish KPIs and performance metrics to measure application stability and team effectiveness.
- Develop and implement DevOps strategies to enhance efficiency and automation.
Operational Oversight
- Oversee daily application support operations, ensuring incident resolution, problem management, and adherence to SLAs.
- Manage and oversee vendor production support operations, ensuring service-level expectations are met.
- Ensure timely resolution of production issues and minimize application downtime.
- Conduct root cause analyses for production incidents and implement solutions for long-term stability.
- Work closely with development and QA teams to streamline transitions of new applications into production environments.
Stakeholder Engagement
- Serve as the primary point of contact for business units regarding application performance, issues, and enhancements.
- Align application support strategies with business objectives, collaborating with IT leadership.
Process Improvement
- Identify and implement best practices for production support and DevOps processes.
- Drive automation initiatives to enhance support efficiency and reduce manual intervention.
Team Development
- Mentor and develop team members, providing guidance and professional development opportunities.
- Promote a collaborative and innovative work environment.
Budget & Resource Management
- Plan and manage the application support budget, ensuring optimal use of resources.
- Recommend and implement tools and technologies to improve application monitoring and support.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field (Master’s degree preferred).
- 15 years of IT experience, with at least 5 years in a leadership role focused on application support.
- Expertise in application architecture, system integrations, and enterprise software.
- Strong experience in incident management, problem resolution, and process improvement.
- Deep understanding of ITIL principles and best practices.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
- Familiarity with job scheduler software, DevOps tools, monitoring tools, IT ticketing systems, and database management.
Preferred Skills
- Experience with both on-premises and cloud-based applications.
- Knowledge of DevOps practices and CI/CD pipelines.
- Understanding of cybersecurity principles related to application support.
Work Environment
- Hybrid Schedule – 3 days onsite per week at our Blue Bell, PA Headquarters.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $160,000.00 - $170,000.00 per year
