A newly established central Project Management Office is seeking an experienced Project Manager to contribute to the build-out and support of this new function. The team will oversee and drive key initiatives across core corporate areas including Finance, Risk Management, and Investment Operations. Reporting directly to the Portfolio Lead, you will be responsible for the comprehensive planning, execution, management, and reporting of projects, adhering to established project management frameworks and standards. This PMO is focused on maximizing the impact and value of strategic change efforts within the organization's corporate functions. As a Project Manager, you will follow a consistent process for project initiation, planning, delivery, and closure, collaborating closely with project sponsors and portfolio leaders to develop detailed project documentation tailored to the specific complexity of each initiative.
The Team:
This central PMO provides oversight and governance for the execution of critical initiatives spanning Corporate Finance, Enterprise Risk, Investment Management, Legal, and Human Resources & Employee Experience. The team is responsible for defining and maintaining project management standards across the enterprise. The focus is on driving alignment and providing enhanced visibility for significant programs and projects within corporate functions, enabling improved prioritization, collaboration, and successful execution.

Your Impact:
As a Strategic Project Manager, you will:
- Collaborate with Project Sponsors and Functional Leaders to develop initial project definition documents, including business case analysis, project charters, high-level resource plans, and preliminary milestone schedules, to secure initial project funding.
- Develop and maintain comprehensive project plans and manage their execution throughout the project lifecycle.
- Define and manage project scope across multiple complex projects or significant programs, navigating changes, high complexity, significant risks, numerous resources, and intricate organizational change elements that support critical enterprise or strategic organizational objectives.
- Develop and manage financial forecasts, track budget variances, proactively identify and address potential delivery issues, and manage budget adjustments through established change control processes.
- Define high-level milestones during the initial project phase and develop detailed project schedules during the planning phase.
- Operate with significant autonomy, applying advanced project and program management expertise to refine resource plans, develop responsibility assignment matrices, conduct key personnel risk assessments, and evaluate third-party support requirements.
- Ensure the early identification, resolution, and escalation of project risks and issues through the maintenance of risk and issue logs and proactive risk assessment activities.
- Drive continuous improvement and efficiency gains beyond the immediate scope of responsibility.
- Be accountable for ensuring all business requirements are met from project inception through successful implementation.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent professional experience and knowledge.
- 8 years of progressive project management experience.
- Demonstrated success in delivering complex, long-term projects on schedule, within budget, and according to defined scope.
- Strong understanding of various project management methodologies.
- Excellent written and verbal communication and interpersonal skills.
- Proficiency in project management software tools, including but not limited to MS Project, Smartsheet, and Jira.
Preferred Qualifications:
- 10 years of project management experience, including 5 years within a Project Management Office (PMO).
- 8 years of experience leading projects impacting core Investment Management and Capital Markets systems and business processes.
- Experience leading projects related to organizational transformations, strategic realignments, and/or legal or procurement operations.
- Project Management Professional (PMP) certification or equivalent.
- Experience with both Agile and Waterfall project management methodologies.
