Job Overview
We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Alarm Technician to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in fire alarm systems, electrical work, and low voltage installations. This role involves the installation, maintenance, and inspection of alarm systems to ensure they meet safety standards and function effectively. The Alarm Technician will also be responsible for understanding plans and system designs to provide optimal service to our clients.
Duties
- Install, maintain, and repair fire alarm systems, ensuring compliance with local codes and regulations.
- Conduct regular inspections and testing of alarm systems to ensure proper functionality.
- Troubleshoot and resolve issues related to fire alarms and other security systems.
- Collaborate with clients to assess their needs and provide recommendations for system upgrades or replacements.
- Read and interpret blueprints and technical drawings related to alarm system installations.
- Work closely with construction teams during the installation phase to ensure seamless integration of alarm systems.
- Provide training to clients on the operation of their alarm systems.
- Maintain accurate records of service calls, inspections, and repairs.
Qualifications
- Proven experience as a Service Technician or similar role in the electrical or low voltage field.
- Strong electrican and mechanical knowledge with the ability to work with various tools and equipment.
- Familiarity with fire alarm sales processes is a plus.
- Experience in construction inspection or system design is highly desirable.
- Ability to read blueprints and technical documentation accurately.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- Strong communication skills for effective interaction with clients and team members.
- Relevant certifications in fire alarm systems or electrical work are preferred.
