About the Role
The VP of Finance is an integral part of the company’s team and will be responsible for managing financial activities within the organization at a PE firm's portco. This includes budgeting, forecasting, financial planning, deep analysis, cash flow management, and ensuring compliance with reporting requirements and regulations. The role involves working closely with senior leadership to drive business growth, operational efficiency, and profitability through sound financial decision-making in a high-growth atmosphere.
Key Responsibilities
1. Financial Reporting and Analysis:
- Technical data management: financial modeling, big data analysis, deep analytical projects. Candidates should have a combination of skills across various platforms including Excel (advanced), BI, and/or Financial Software.
- Ensure timely and accurate financial reporting, including monthly, quarterly, and annual reports.
- Analyze financial performance, identify trends, and provide recommendations for improvement and prioritization.
- Prepare detailed financial statements and understand details in support of those statements.
2. Budgeting and Forecasting:
- Oversee the preparation and management of the annual budget, ensuring it aligns with organizational goals.
- Conduct regular forecasting to strategize on future financial outcomes and advise on corrective actions as needed.
- Support management in prioritizing its many growth vectors, primarily the de novo expansion of its residential business and the growth of its outpatient offering.
3. Stakeholder Relations:
- Build and maintain strong relationships with key internal and external stakeholders, including lenders, ownership, and regulatory actors (e.g., auditors, tax accountants).
- Communicate financial performance, strategy, and recommendations to senior leadership and operational / functional leaders.
4. Financial Strategy and Leadership:
- Assist in developing and implementing the organization’s financial strategy, aligning with overall business objectives.
- Provide financial insights and guidance to the executive team to support business decisions.
- Lead the finance department, fostering a culture of collaboration, accountability, and excellence.
- Monitor and manage cash flow, ensuring financial health and liquidity.
5. Compliance and Risk Management:
- Understand compliance with financial regulations, accounting standards, and tax laws.
- Identify financial risks and develop strategies to mitigate them.
6. Continuous Improvement:
- Drive process improvements within the finance function, leveraging technology and automation where appropriate.
- Stay informed about industry trends, emerging financial technologies, and best practices to improve the organization’s financial operations.
Professional Experience & Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, or a related field (i.e., CPA, MBA).
- Minimum of 3 years of progressive experience in finance, including:
- Strong knowledge of financial management, accounting principles, financial reporting, and risk management.
- Proficiency in financial software, ERP systems and Excel.
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
- Strong communication skills, with the ability to present complex financial information to non-financial stakeholders
- Self-starter with strong analytical skills and ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment; strong work ethic and attention to detail
- Fundamental understanding of healthcare regulations and reimbursement models
This role requires a mix of technical financial expertise, strategic thinking, and leadership capabilities to guide the organization toward its financial goals while maintaining strong governance and operational effectiveness.
