ABOUT THE FAMILY
This crew genuinely loves spending time together and enjoy family dinners, checking in with each other and dreaming up their next big adventures.
The almost 2 year old is a ray of sunshine with a ready wave and a smile for everyone she meets. She loves music, a good dance party, hugging her stuffed animals, flipping through books, playing with her toys, and soaking up the world around her. She's also a mini chatterbox, surprising the family daily with new words and sentences.
Baby girl (with personality TBD!) will be arriving this spring!
The older two are just genuinely great kids. They are busy with activities and school and, for the most part, manage themselves! They do have some days throughout the year when school is closed or they don't have camp for a week where they will be in and around the household (and wanting to spend time with their siblings), but care for them is not required. It's just important that the nanny be comfortable (and have desire to build rapport) with them.
ABOUT THEIR NANNY
The right fit for this family genuinely LOVES being a nanny! You know that what makes this job so special is the connections you make with the families you are with.
You are familiar with developmental milestones, have experience balancing the needs of a baby and toddler and while you understand the importance of routine, you are flexible (and not rigid).
AND ... you are fun! You are a teacher by nature and find joy in finding creative, playful and thoughtful ways to teach the kids in your care about the world around them. Have a Waldorf background? That would be a great bonus (but not required).
SOME WORDS FROM THE FAMILY
ABOUT OUR HOME : Generally neat and tidy, though that doesn't apply to the kid's rooms as they have their own definition of a clean room these days. We are fairly organized and tend to keep a stocked fridge and pantry unless we miss our weekly trip to the store.
OUR SONG : We Are Family by Sister Sledge
Describe your maternity leave plans as well as the post-maternity leave expectations for your nanny : Our little one is due this spring, and mom will be taking six months off to bond with our baby girl and settle into the new dynamics of our growing family. During this time, we'll need some light support on weekdays, like helping with the baby between feeds, sterilizing bottles and parts, and offering an extra hand to mama. While mom will be around the house, a bit of patience will go a long way as she navigates postpartum care and as our toddler gets used to having a new baby sister and adjusting to the changes. As we gear up for mom's return to work in the fall, we'll gradually shift to full-time care for both girls.
